New Joule 2.0 in Stock @Cycle Loft

We've been on the waiting list for months, and had been told we'd have these babies in our hands for months--now we've got them--the new Saris Joule 2.0 w/ HR Strap! We've got a couple available that will sync right up to your ANT+ Powertap Hub. I've been using a Joule 2.0 since last week, and love the new bigger screen with programmable display features and backlight. Say goodbye to the 2032 battery, say hello to recharging instead.

Staff Update

With the 2010 season upon, one thing is for sure, change is always in the wind. Ryan DeRoche has been a familiar face here at the Cycle Loft for the last 5+ years. It's with disappointment that we bid Ryan good luck on his next new adventures as he leave the Loft to become Trek Travel's Global Logistics Manager, effective immediately. What does that all mean? Well it means he'll be travelling the world setting up and taking care of riders and bicycles for trips and tours, primarily in Europe. We're sorry to see Ryan depart, and it's a great opportunity for him--we wish him the very best. On the road this summer, you will continue to see the Cycle Loft Neutral Support truck at the MS150, B2B, PMC, and other rides with Dan Bischoff [among others], at the wheel. Be sure to say hi to Dan and welcome him to the road gang.

As Ryan was oft to say, "Ride fast, take chances;" ok, just don't forget to send a postcard.

Here in the shop, we'll continue to prioritize customer service and mechanical thoroughness. Gene Ruiter, an exceedingly experienced mechanic will be rejoining the Cycle Loft after a stay in UT and NV--Gene brings a great passion for all disciplines of riding--road, ATB [rigid!], bmx--and a high level of mechanical creativity to the shop, not to mention a great grasp on American and English Literature.

As always, please feel free to reach out to me or Anthony Laskaris, with any service oriented issues.

Carerra Carbon Bicycles Revealed at Cycle Loft

Famous for the exploits of Italian cycling legends Claudio Chiapucci and Marco Pantani, not to mention, Irishman, Stephen Roche, Italian bicycle brand Carrera has arrived at The Cycle Loft. Carrera's top 3 carbon frames (Hercules, Phibra, & Estremo) are hand crafted at the PODIUM-Carrera facility in Calcinato, Brescia Italy and are one of Italy's best kept cycling secrets. The Cycle Loft is proud to be the Massachusett's exclusive retailer for Carerra bicycles.

The Phibra’s unique frame design incorporates Carrera’s "2b double arc block technology", which uses two arc-shaped high-modulus carbon fibre blocks to form the frame’s backbone. The upper "block" starts at the head tube flows through the top tube to the rear monostay, and then finishes at the rear dropouts. The lower "block" similarly integrates the down tube, bottom bracket shell, and chain stays. An integrated seat mast joins the two together. Read a recent review of the Phibra in Road Bike Action magazine.

High stress areas of the Phibra frame are reinforced by a carbon-titanium weave. A massive bottom bracket zone and over sized chain stays insure efficient power transfer. An aero Carrera Thunder monocoque carbon fork, a tapered head tube and internal cable routing round out the package.

The Estremo possesses high modulus carbon fiber, carbon-titanium and vectran weave in high stress areas and a striking paint scheme.
